What we do
We write short, practical guides for the problems foreigners hit in China: getting online, paying, getting around. Each guide gives a straight answer first, then the dated evidence behind it, so you can act on it the same day.
How we work
- First-hand checks. Where we can, we test a thing ourselves, from inside or outside China, and say which. Test results carry the date of the test, not the date we published.
- Dated sources. Every guide shows when it was last updated and lists its sources, each with the date we last checked it.
- Plain about what we did not test. If a claim comes from research and not from our own test, the page says so.
- Public corrections. When we get something wrong, we fix it and log the date.
How the site is funded
Nomad China earns commissions on eligible purchases through affiliate links. Paid links are marked as ads on the page they appear on. The guides are free to read.
A commission never buys a recommendation. If the evidence contradicts what we wrote, we change what we wrote.
